A sveleis about 1 cm thick and 18 cm wide pancake. Baking soda and hornsalt are used as leavening agents, which gives the svelea characteristic taste. The svele batter otherwise consists of eggs, flour, butter, sugar and sour milk or kefir, and is fried on a "takke". Sveler are widely used as coffee food. Serve with Sour cream and jam, butter and brown cheese or with nutella or nugatti.
