Den Sorte Havre Steel Cut Black Oats are made from wholegrain black oat groats cut into pieces with blades rather than rolled flat. This preserves more of the grain’s structure and gives porridge a firm texture and satisfying bite.

For those who enjoy a heartier bowl of oatmeal, steel-cut oats offer more texture and chew than quick-cooking or large rolled oats. Serve warm with your favourite toppings for a simple breakfast with a gourmet feel.

Product instructions

1. Add 1 part steel-cut black oats to 3 parts water.
2. Bring to a boil.
3. Reduce heat and simmer for approximately 20–30 minutes.
4. Stir occasionally until desired consistency is reached.
5. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

    Norwegian Foodstore and the delivery company are not responsible for melted or otherwise heat- or cold-damaged products outside the recommended storage range.
    Please note that temperatures during transport can be higher than the outdoor temperature. Goods can be exposed to significantly more heat inside delivery vehicles, especially when parked in direct sunlight — even for short periods of time.
    By ordering such items, the customer accepts this risk.

  3. If you still choose to order products that normally require refrigeration (e.g., brown cheese, mayonnaise, cheese in a tube), please cool them down completely before consuming and keep them refrigerated after arrival.
