Product information

Syrup (sugar syrup) is made by mixing various by-products that arise from the production of white sugar from beet or cane sugar. Syrup is a tough solution consisting of sugar (sucrose), dextrose (glucose) and fructose (fructose). The combination of the different sugars prevents crystallization, while the very high sugar content of approx. 80% guarantees long shelf life.

Syrup is made in different qualities by mixing the different by-products in different ways, so that you get variations in color and taste. The color and taste come mainly from small amounts of mineral salt and other substances that are found naturally in the raw material, but sometimes salt must be added to create the right taste profile. Each quality is adapted to a specific area of ​​use. Syrup is especially useful for baking, but is also used in confectionery products, ice cream and desserts.

Tips
- Sugar-brown potatoes: The easiest way to make the brown potatoes is to melt a little syrup on the pan. When it is hot, you have the potatoes in. After a short time, they are beautifully light brown and ready to serve.

  1. We always ship products without refrigeration. Please be aware of this when placing an order.

  2. Most products are meant to be stored between 18–22°C (68–71°F).
    If you live in a location where temperatures exceed 22°C (71°F) (or are very cold), we strongly recommend not ordering products that are sensitive to temperature changes.
    Norwegian Foodstore and the delivery company are not responsible for melted or otherwise heat- or cold-damaged products outside the recommended storage range.
    Please note that temperatures during transport can be higher than the outdoor temperature. Goods can be exposed to significantly more heat inside delivery vehicles, especially when parked in direct sunlight — even for short periods of time.
    By ordering such items, the customer accepts this risk.

  3. If you still choose to order products that normally require refrigeration (e.g., brown cheese, mayonnaise, cheese in a tube), please cool them down completely before consuming and keep them refrigerated after arrival.

  4. Please ensure that packages are not left outside your home. We cannot replace products that are stolen or damaged due to being left unsupervised in heat or cold. If you choose to have the package left outside, it is entirely at your own risk.

International: 2 - 7 days | Domestic: 2 - 3 days

If a product is not in stock, the product will normally be shipped out 1 - 4 days after ordering. If you are in a rush, please contact support after ordering, to see what we can do to help.

Shipments are sent from Norway. Please ensure that product is permitted to import to recieving country. You or the reciepient are the importer of record, and responsible for the import of the products. Read more here
